William Dolphas Green, Sr.

William Dolphas Green, Sr. was born in Dansby, Arkansas on October 3, 1937, to the late Robert Green, Sr. and Cora Lee Collins Green. He was one of ten children born to this union.

William confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. He attended school in Brickeys, Arkansas. He quit high school in order to work in the fields to help the family.

He fathered a son prior to meeting the love of his life, Margaret Lee Ratchford. They married on December 25, 1958, to this union six children were born.

He moved his family to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1959. He then relocated the family to Memphis, Tennessee in 1972. He did not have a church home, but he knew and loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Lee Green, who went home December 12, 2024. Also preceding him in death were four siblings, Mary Green, Walter Green, Odessa Green and Maxine Green.

He leaves to cherish his memories five sons, Bobby Green, Larry (Trisha) Green, William (Yvette) Green, Jr., Timothy (Sandra) Green and Felix Green; two daughters, Lydia (Curtis) Robinson and Yolanda Green; three brothers, Albert Green, Robert Green, Jr. and Lonel Green; two sisters, Margaret Green and Cluster Green; 28 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
