William Lee "Sonny" Buford, Jr. was born February 9, 1935 to the late William Lee Buford, Sr. and Ethel Lee Buford in LaGrange, AR. He was the oldest of 4 siblings.

William married Rosetta Seward on June 7, 1958. To this union five children were born.

William confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized. He attended LaGrange Public School. He departed this life on February 20, 2024 at the home of his son, Charles Buford, Sr. in Marianna, AR.

William began working for the Lee County School District's Bus/Transportation Department at the age of 18 and continued to work until retirement after 38 years of service. For many years he worked as a part-time employee for the Old Gin and Marianna Peach Shed. He retired in 1991 due to illness.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta Buford; his parents, William Lee Buford, Sr. and Ethel Lee Buford.

William leaves to cherish his memories five sons, David (Darlene) Hutchins, Michael (Joyce) Buford, Gregory Buford and Darius Buford all of Oklahoma City, OK and Charles Buford, Sr. of Marianna, AR; one daughter, Debra (Willie) Nelson of Conway, AR; three brothers, Larry (Rosie) Buford of Marianna, AR, Floyd (Mary) Buford of Lexa, AR and Edward (Rose) Buford of West Helena, AR; 16 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
