Tommy Lee Harris, Sr. was born on January 22, 1936, in Scooba, Mississippi to the late Bobby and Katie Harris. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age, later joining New Bethel M.B. Church where he served as a Deacon under the leadership of Rev. Cecil Coleman, until his health failed in 2024.

In January 1965, he married Annie L. Hughes, three children were born to this union. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Bobby and Katie Harris; one brother, Bobby Harris, Jr. and five sisters, Edna Harris, Martha Stewart, Marie Coleman, Hattie Little and Geraldine Rucker. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at his home in Marianna, Arkansas.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 60 years, Annie L. Harris of Marianna, AR; three daughters, Cynthia Kelly-Price of Dallas, TX, Tommie Harris-Garcia of Collierville, TN and Rewa Harris-Sparks of Fayetteville, AR; five sons, Edrick Meridy and Ronald Meridy both of Longview, TX; Tommy Harris, Jr. of Houston, TX, Roderick Harris of Marianna, AR and Morieon Kelly (son/grandson) of Marianna, AR; four sisters, Polly Moore of Newark, CA, Susie B. Banks of Fairfield, IA, Christine (Carl) Vinson of Renton, WA and Katie Mae Harris of Seattle, WA; 26 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He also leaves to cherish his memories, his best friend, Willie Sanders.
