Obituary

Robert Lee Flenoy was born January 22, 1950, in Marianna, Arkansas to the union of Roland and Mattie Mae Flenoy. Robert was the 4th oldest of 13 children, 3 girls and 10 boys.

Robert attended Anna Strong Elementary School, Moton Junior High and Strong High School where he graduated in 1968.

Robert Lee, was a man of many names, to name a few: Babe, 2 cents, and Rob. Rob was a very spirited and good-hearted person. He was always willing to help anyone who would listen; with his famous saying "Bang Bang", "Look-A Here", Ya Understand" with that old southern drawl. To know Robert was to love him. He was a jack of all trades. Early in his life, he worked on Felton farms, working the fields. He later worked for the City of Marianna in sanitation, until he found his passion for driving semi-trucks. Robert enjoyed working on cars and buses as a hobby but knew exactly what he was doing.

Robert migrated to Chicago, IL, in 1972, where he met and later married Angela Truman on November 16, 1974. They were married for 25 years, and to that union, two beautiful girls were born, Cherise and Cherida, and he was a father to William Truman. While in Chicago, Robert accepted his life to Christ and was baptized on December 17, 1989, under the leadership of Bishop A. R. Powell Sr.

He continued his career driving semi-trucks locally and over the roads for Keller Trucking Company. Rob no longer wanted to drive for a living (so he thought), he wanted to try something different, so he worked with Dean's Janitorial Services where he cleaned schools and buffed floors, then went to BJ's Transportation as a school bus driver then ended there as a bus mechanic.

Robert talked about making changes in his life with his daughters, Cherise and Cherida. He would say in every conversation" I want to go back home to be with my brothers, sisters and family", we finally accepted his request and he returned to his hometown Marianna, Arkansas in 2018. He loved being around his family and friends and having a funky good time. Rob was not only a loving father but a true jokester.

Robert departed his life on October 24, 2024. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Roland and Mattie Mae Flenoy, four brothers - Cornell, Melvin, Herbert T. and James Flenoy; two Sisters - Gloria Weaver and Mattie Louise Davis.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories his former wife, Angela Flenoy; son, William Truman; two beautiful daughters, Cherise (Quintus), and Cherida; one sister, Ruby (Tommie) Outley; five brothers, Larry (Barbara), Vernell, Terry, Billy and Calvin Flenoy; two uncles, Charles Flenoy and Jamie Lee Williams; one aunt, Christine Williams; Godmother, Flora Mae Henry; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
