Merlene Cheers, the daughter of the late Murline Cheers and Rafie Cheers, Sr., was born March 3, 1969, in Marianna, AR.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Murline Cheers; her father, Rafie Cheers, Sr. and one sister, Christine Cheers.

Merlene accepted Christ at an early age. She joined Shady Grove M.B. Church.

Merlene transitioned peacefully Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Takia Coger and Tywon Cheers; two grandchildren; her special friend, Argo Coger; three sisters, Verna Johnson, Deloris Sanders and Sarah Reyes; three brothers, Bobby (Sharon) Cheers, Homer (Francis) Cheers and Rafie Cheers, Jr.; two special friends, Marvin Turner and James Miller and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
