Obituary

Johnny Lamar Hulum was born May 28, 1970 (on his mother's birthday) to the late Lurelean Joshua-Thomas and Jeff Hulum of Marianna, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Garland, Gilfred and Milford.

Johnny was born into a God loving family and was baptized at an early age. Johnny and friend Hilton started attending The Church of The Living God Temple #304, before long almost all the families of Manor Apartments on California Street became members under the leadership of Elder Samuel Brown. Elder Brown, his wife and family were so loving to us all and we learned so much.

Johnny served in the United Sates Navy, after high school. He really loved his family and often sent home foreign money and lots of souvenirs.  He was so kind, funny, intelligent and just pleasant to be around. Johnny was a graduate of the Lee Senior High School class of 1988. He was always a Mighty Trojan. He was a very big Dallas Cowboys fan and got to witness a win before transitioning. He even got a visit from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. He had a customized jersey and never missed a game.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memories, his fiancé, Nikita Rochelle Owens; his children, Jamal Hulum of Virginia, Janae Hulum, Pierre Lee, Joshua (Kristina) Stewart and Ashley (Vinson) Lacy all of Texas; his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jaiyla and Pharin; his brothers, Rev. Cecil (Redeen) Thomas of Jonesboro, AR, Stan (Lenora) Thomas and Kenneth (Sandra) Thomas both of Dallas, TX, Daryl Thomas of Atlanta, GA, Jerald Thomas of Marianna, AR, Barry (Arlene) Hulum of Compton, CA, Dedrick D. Thomas of Tacoma, WA, Jackie Couch and Gary (Eula) Couch both of Brinkley, AR and Jeff (Jallien) Hulum of Alexander, AR; his soul brothers, Darrell Brooks Cooper, Dwight Cole, Lamar Smith, Craig Allen, Corey Barryer, Mark Jordan, Hilton Kirby, Ron McCoy and Alvertis Smith; his sisters, Brenda Thomas, Earlene Edwards, Christine (Chris) Hulum-Brandon and Kalonda Hulum all of Marianna, AR, Betty Hulum and Brenda Hulum both of Compton, CA, and Camellia Faye Thomas of Long Beach, CA.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
