Arline Frances
Turner
Oct 17, 1954 — May 20, 2025
St. Louis
Arline Turner was born on October 17, 1954, in Vineyard, Arkansas, to Roosevelt and Ceola Rachel-Westbrook. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Kennedy and Allean Sanders; and brothers, John L. Westbrook, Roosevelt "Shane" Westbrook, Alvin Westbrook, and Calvin Westbrook.
Affectionately known as Frances, Arline was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of kindness, strength, and grace. She touched the hearts of everyone she met—not just through words, but through her loving actions. Whether offering a gentle smile, a helping hand, or a word of encouragement, Arline brightened the world around her.
Arline attended school in Lee County, where she played the clarinet and proudly served as a pom-pom girl. She later furthered her education by completing the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program at East Arkansas Community College.
Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Arline accepted Christ at a young age and was raised in Sequell Missionary Baptist Church. After the family moved to town "Marianna", she joined Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where her faith continued to flourish. In St Louis, she worshipped with her church family at Open Door Christian Center, continuing to grow spiritually and serve with love.
On December 29, 1983, Arline married the love of her life, Clarence Turner. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Kala (Turner) Hulsey, and lovingly raised five children: Frederick Westbrook, Gigi (Westbrook) Hall, Christopher Westbrook, and Clarence Harris, who preceded her in death.
In 1988, Arline and Clarence relocated to St. Louis, Missouri. She worked various jobs before beginning a long and fulfilling career with Barnes Jewish Christian Hospital, where she served with dedication and compassion for 32 years before retiring.
In retirement, Arline found joy in worshipping with her church community, cooking, shopping, and cherishing every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life was a testament to enduring love, faith, and family.
Arline's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves to honor her memory:
Her devoted husband, Clarence Turner, of St. Louis, MO
A sister, Mable Fields, of Chicago, IL
A brother, Ronnie Orr, Rondo, AR
Her children: Frederick (Kendra) Westbrook, Gigi (Marvin) Hall of Marianna, AR, Christopher (Alice) Westbrook of Baltimore, MD, and Kala (Kelvin Jr) Hulsey of St. Louis, MO
Fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren
Her aunts, Ethel Westbrook and Donna Westbrook
Her uncle, Willie Louis Westbrook
And a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends
Her strength, compassion, and faith continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
